Research on Rattle ARtist

-makes a lot of mushrooms
Kelly Jean Ohl
-Multiple pieces and different shapes
-Inspired by different bowls and random shapes

Rattle pinch pot
I think I did that facial features pretty well. If I were to do this again I would have picked to sculpt something more realistic.
This piece is a red circle with some black, white, and orange. This piece does give me the feeling I intended it to. I wanted it to feel childish and it does. I used glaze on everything except the eyes. On the eyes I used acrylic paint. I do feel like this piece was successful. To create this piece I made two pinch pots and smoothed them together to leave the middle hallow. Before I smoothed them together I made little balls to put inside. After that I started creating the facial features on the angry bird. After that it went in the kiln and I waited to glaze and paint it. |
Kandinsky Composition
I would describe my piece has black and white patterns on a pot. I used glaze and clay. This piece does give me the feeling i intended it to. This piece could have been neater, it was a little sloppy.
Altered book
This piece has several colors and each page has a different meaning. First I had to cut the pages to make a frame in make the waves different layers. Then I painted it. I hot glued the pages together so they wouldn't flop around. On the left side I blended the colors together to make it look like a sunset. For the base I cut out cardboard and put glitter on it and painted it to make it feel like sand. Lastly for the boat I cut cardboard and painted in. I used yarn at the end as a tassel. This piece turned out exactly how I wanted it to. It makes me feel happy because it gives the feeling of a pretty beach with a sunset. It is supposed to represent Thailand.
non-objective sculpture
To make this piece I had to go to the wood room to get wood. I looked for simple and rectangular small pieces. Once I collected my pieces I tired to put them together to make it look super simple. I sanded my pieces then painted them then used wood glue to put them together. This piece almost turned out how I wanted it to. Since I painted the wood first when I glued the pieces you could see chucky pieces of glue. This piece makes me feel like a child.

Wearable art
For my wearable art project I decided to make two rings out of clay and a pair of earrings. If I had more beads I feel like I could have made more unique earrings. I would say this isn't my best project but the rings actually fit my fingers. If I could do something differently I would have made all the jewelry match. My favorite is the cow print ring with the pink heart.
Clay Eye Practice
Animal head
My project didn't end up getting put in the kiln after I glazed it. I created a panda head. I am very proud of this piece. Since it hasn't been glazed yet you can't tell but there's lots of little details for the fur. I think I could have glazed the mouth better. To make this I created two pinch pots the started pushing inwards to make the dimensions of the face. This piece turned out how I wanted it to.
