5/11/2020 0 Comments PHOTOGRAPHYMy favorite piece is the photo of my bed. I've been spending most time in my bed during this quarantine. The color in this photo is black and white to show how classic it is. There are different proportions in this photo. What takes up most of my bed in just the comforter and at the end theirs a blanket and at the very top theirs pillows. This picture I thought my editing was the most successful. I learned you can really change a picture by editing it.
5/11/2020 0 Comments Portrait Warm UpsThe face proportions warm up helped me the most. This helped me because I didn't realized that the eyes are supposed to be more in the middle of the face. If I didn't do that warm up I would have drawn my eyes further up and it would have looked weird. The most surprising thing to me about the face proportions was that the eyes are in the middle of the face.
4/14/2020 0 Comments Portrait ProjectI did my portrait of my best friend named Abby. I decided to use pencil as my medium. When drawing Abby I drew the head shape first, then the eyes, then the nose, then lips, and lastly hair. I think I did the eyes very good, they turned out better then I thought. Next time I would try to do the nose better.
3/10/2020 0 Comments Painting warm upsEach warm up taught me something different like, how to mix colors, texture, how to blend, and ect. The color wheel warm up was the most helpful. I learned the most from the skin tone warm up. It was kind of successful except most of my skin tones kind of came out red. Some ways to make brown are mixing yellow and purple, red and green, orange and blue. To tone down a color you just add white.
3/6/2020 0 Comments The Idea of placeI decided to paint a rainbow in a clear sky. In my painting I tinted every color that I used. In my reference picture the colors where very light and almost looked like there was gray added to it. I tried to match up the size and where things were on my painting as close as I could to my reference picture. I used my thumb to proportion it correctly. I was inspired paint this rainbow because when I see a rainbow it makes me feel happy. Seeing all the colors I painted made me feel accomplished and happy about my painting. I think I did a very good job matching the colors and blending the rainbow. From this assignment I learned how to mix the colors perfectly to match the picture. I also learned how to blend better.

Hollie creates most of her artwork in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hollie has a wbsite it is holliechastain.com. Hollie began working in 2008 by making her first vintage book cover. Hollie inspires me because she wasn't very good at drawing but she is an amazing artist. She gives me hope that I could still be an artist. I love Hollies unique artwork because I love the calming colors she uses and how vintage it is.
2/10/2020 0 Comments Pen, Pencil, and CharcoalThe pen cubes warm up was the most helpful for me because it taught me how to do cross hatching, hatching, stippling, and random lines. This help me with my pen drawing. Composition-The placement or arrangement of the elements of art in a work, usually according to the principles of design.
